Daycare is currently offered on Mondays, Wednesdays,Thursdays and Fridays, starting at $30. Pickup and drop off is provided which means space is limited and price varies with distance. Pickup is between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. Your pup gets 3.5 to 4 hours of actual playtime and will be dropped back off between 1 and 2pm. Dogs that tend to do best staying with us are dogs that do well with other dogs, have basic car etiquette, and are house trained/non destructive. Because we board out of our home, we and our space are not always the right fit for every type of pup. When taking multiple dogs into our home, we are careful to only take ones we are familiar with and we know work well with one another. In some scenarios this may mean your dog makes a new friend. Growing up I always had a minimum of 2 cats and 2 dogs living in my house at any given time. I used to call my mom St. Francis, symbolic of the ways animals were drawn to her. Animals felt safe with my mom and when I was five she explicitly taught me how to read their body language. She taught me all about what it means to love and care for animals. That very same year I got my first pet sitting gig -- a fish named Goldie Hawn. Since Goldie, I have pet sat dogs, cats, fish, birds, lizards, snakes, frogs, goats, chickens, and various domesticated species from months old through their elder years. Although I care for pets across the lifespan, I have cultivated a special affinity for older animals. I see and understand their needs in a particular way. I am pretty sure the moment I began loving animals had something to do with the family bull -- a large and somewhat awkward beast that sprinted right up to my mother’s pregnant belly, stopping inches from her navel in a gesture to say hello. I was in her womb then, but I swear I heard him. The story goes - I was imprinted early, later growing up with an array of pets and spending portions of my youth working on a family friend’s Border Collie Ranch. The first time I got paid to petsit was high school. I bought slap bracelets with the cash back then. Since then, I have put myself through school petsitting and finally decided to make it an actual career. The decision to go full time came when Colleen and I were thinking about care for our own cat and dog when we were going to go away. Our animals are used to being well loved and we were determined to keep that up in our absence. It proved hard to find someone we could depend on. Over my life I have loved and cared for animals of kinds, sizes, and ages (lizards, horses, pups, cats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs). Heaven is me, a dog, and some woods.
